Åsa studied at Gothenburg School of Economics and Commercial Law and spent two semesters abroad, in Spain and in Germany. After graduating, Åsa joined the Swedish Trade Council and worked as a management consultant and project leader in the Berlin office for five years. Åsa was tasked with helping Swedish companies to enter the German market and primarily conducted market analyses for clients in the retail and consumer goods area, and in parallel worked within sales. She was also responsible for the recruitment of new consultants.

In 2006, Åsa decided to move into recruitment full time and joined Alumni / Harvey Nash. Helping companies within the retail & consumer goods sector to establish in Germany gave Åsa a deep understanding of the consumer/retail industry, and she now heads up the Consumer Practice in Sweden.
